Majors
All classes counting toward the degree must be taken for a letter grade. Departments can allow one course for a concentration to be taken S/U at the approval of the DUS or the department. Mathematics will uphold the current policy of not allowing any course to be taken S/U for majors or minors.
Students must meet the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 to graduate with any major or minor from the department. A letter grade of "D" in a prerequisite course indicates insufficient preparation for the follow up course. Retaking the course is recommended. Your major/minor GPA will be recalculated using the best letter grade.
Occasionally topics courses are offered that may count towards a degree. Talk to your academic advisor to get approval.
