Awards

The Graduate Research Award is presented annually to graduate students that have demonstrated outstanding research activities in Mathematics. Recipients are selected each spring by the Director of Graduate Studies and the faculty committee.

The Graduate Teaching Award recognizes outstanding teaching by a doctoral student in the Department of Mathematics at Emory University. Candidates must have at least two years of teaching experience, a strong academic record, and demonstrated promise for excellence in mathematical pedagogy. It was established by friends and family of Dr. Marshall Hall, a noted algebraist and combinatorialist, and is supported by the Department of Mathematics’s Graduate Program. This award helps defray educational expenses. Each spring, the Math Graduate Committee selects the recipient based on evaluations and faculty recommendations.
