Pedagogy
Research in education within our department explores how people learn and engage with knowledge through diverse modes of thinking and experience. Faculty investigate the cognitive, social, and cultural dimensions of learning, integrating perspectives from mathematics, the arts, and the sciences. Our work bridges theory and practice, with projects that reimagine what it means to learn, create, and communicate across disciplines.
Current initiatives include innovative approaches that connect mathematics with movement, design, and technology. These projects invite students to experience abstract concepts through embodied exploration and creative application, highlighting the role of imagination, collaboration, and problem-solving in the learning process.
